Prayer Shawl Ministry

"For their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love." Col.2:2

A prayer shawl is an outward and visible sign of prayer going out to a person from the person knitting or crocheting it.  We pray that the shawl brings love, comfort, and encouragement to those who need it.

At our prayer shawl meetings we have prayer and fellowship while we make prayer shawls.  Our first meeting was on Nov. 13, 2007 in the parlor of St. John’s UCC.  Six ladies attended.  Now we meet in the living room at Greenleaf Living Center every 2nd and 4th Wed. at 2:00PM.  Everyone is welcome.

In the winter we make hats, scarves, and mittens for needy school children.  We also do other needle work such as embroidery.

“You created every part of me knitting me in my mother’s womb.  For such handiwork, I praise You.  Awesome this great wonder.”

Psalm 139:13-14
